I havenβt posted many kayaking stories of late, even though Iβve spent most weekends over the past two months on the water myself. Canoe & Kayak Magazine has a great article from their current issue on Kayaking the Yangtze River.
Along the way, they saw amazing canyons, glorious whitewater, and amazing beaches. They also saw the death of one of the greatest rivers in the world, as the Chinese government has damned up the Yangtze in an attempt to control its flooding and to generate electricity.
Still, in the process, they have changed the ecology of the sound area, flooded cities, and displaced millions of people. Still, this is an interesting story with some great pictures, and Iβd love to take an epic kayak trip like this one.
