The 2006 Antarctic exploration season is just about to open, and ThePoles.com has a nice list of the major expeditions set to get underway. Besides the Hannah McKeand’s solo, unsupported, speed trip, there will also be ocean rowers from New Zealand, skiers from the U.K., and yet another group from India. There is even an expedition to the Pole of Inaccessibility. No word on the South Expedition yet, but I assume they are still planning their expedition to retrace the footsteps of Robert Falcon Scott as well.
