Have you ever wondered how much gear you need to take on a big mountain expedition? For those of us who hever never been on a climb like that, itβs hard to fathom everything you need. Heck, i have plenty to take to Kili in April. Well, wonder no more my friend, as Alan has put together a very comprehensive list of the essential gear for Everest.
Of course there are all the items you would expect, like base, mid, and outher layers of clothing, not to mention the rain gear, and the extreme cold gear. The various gloves, caps, mittens, socks, and so on. On top of that, youβll have roughly five pairs of shoes for various uses through the climb. The list goes on and on, with ropes, ice axes, sleeping bags, and so much more.
The great thing about this list is not only are the items listed, but so is the price, along with a link to where the gear can be purchased, a brief description of the item, and the various mountains that the items can be used on, besides Everest. This is a great resource for anyone plannning their first trip, or just curious as to why it costs so much to the highest point on Earth.
