I was alerted to The Adventurist blog by a comment left here earlier today. It’s a very cool blog, not unlike my own, with some nice thoughts and insights on many of the same things that I am interested in. It’s definitely worth bookmarking for stories on Everest and mountaineering in general.
One nice entry that I can recommend already is this interview with David Tait, the man who intends to do a double traverse of Everest in the Spring. Tait will start on the North side, summit and descend to the South, then rest in base camp before turning around and heading back up to the summit, and returning down the North side where he started.
In the interview, Tait discusses the reality of living on Everest for three months, dealing with the tedium of waiting for your crack at the summit, and of course his double traverse. It’s a short, but interesting read, and I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about Tait as the Spring climbing season approaches and more news comes in from the mountain.
