The Last Great Race will get underway this weekend, and Iβm sure coverage of the race will ramp up over at The Iditablog as well. For the past few years, the Iditablog has covered the race with regular updates and reports from the trail, and will continue to be a great source of information.
Check out their 2007 Winners Preview with predictions on who will take the race, and with two defending champs returning it should prove interesting. 2005 winner Robert Sorlie is back after taking last year off and heβs going to want to wrest the crown away from Jeff King, who will not go quietly into the long Alaskan nights, you can be sure.
Stay tuned. Another epic race is about to begin. 1150 miles of unrelenting ice, snow, and wilderness are all that stands between the mushers and glory.
