Cabela’s is the official sponsor of the Iditarod, and has put together a great site packed with information and pre-race news. The site has news of the mushers arriving in Anchorage, updates on the Junior Iditarod won by Rohn Buser, and plenty of pre-race coverage.
There are even sections dedicated to the history of the race, the trail itself, complete with clickable map, official rules of the event, an excellent page dedicated to the dogs, who are the real heroes of the Iditarod, and plenty of coverage on last year’s champion Jeff King.
The Last Great Race on Earth begins in just two days, with the ceremonial kick-off in Anchorage on Saturday, and the race properly getting underway on Sunday.
