Summer Outdoor Retailer starts tomorrow in Salt Lake City, which can mean only one thing, New Gear! Over the next few days I’m sure we’ll see all kinds of new packs, clothes, boots, and any manner of other gear that you can think of, and probably some you can’t! It’s a huge event, with more than 20,000 people attending, most of whom work for retail outlets and will be looking for the “next big thing” to stock in their stores in 2008.
To get you ready for the event, the Gear Junkie (who else?) has a preview of some of the gear that will debut at the show.
Some of these items are just a tantalizing tease, such as the Thatcher shoe from Patagonia or the new headlamp from Black Diamond. But posting that shot of the new Whitney 95 Pack from Gregory is like posting porn for a pack junkie like me. I NEED to try one of those things on. Now!
It’s probably a good thing that I’m not going to OR this year, despite having a few invites and inquiries to see if I had plans. I’d probably get arrested trying to smuggle some piece of gear out the door that wasn’t suppose to hit the shelves until next Spring or something. Not being able to take it home with me right then and there would be frustrating as well. Gregory can have their Whitney pack back after they pry it from my cold dead fingers!
