Yep, itβs that time again. The 2008 Summer Outdoor Retailer show is now underway, displaying the latest and greatest outdoor gadgets, gear, and other objects of desire. Most of the gear being shown there wonβt arrive in stores until late this year or early next, but it still gives us a good idea of where the industry is headed, and what we can expect out of our future gear.
A couple of websites have already posted some thoughts and impression on the new stuff. The Gear Junkie (who else?) is on the scene, and weighs in with some early thoughts on a wide variety of gear, including new tents from Big Anges and toe socks from Injinji. Backpacker Magazine is also on the scene, and have begun updating their blog as well. Amongst their early discoveries is gourmet food for your dog! Finally, Wade from Outdoorzy is also in Salt Lake City, and enjoying demo day.
For a complete list of whatβs happening at Summer OR, be sure to check out their official daily updates from the show. While I look forward to all the new gear, my wallet cries a little every year about this time.
