New High Tech Travel Gear

Our friend the Gear Junkie AKA Stephen Regenold has puts together a great list of New High Tech Travel Gear for Forbes Traveler. The list is the latest and greatest of the must have new gadget and gizmos for our next travel adventure.

The list of gear starts off with a travel bag that charges all of your new tech toys thanks to embedded solar panels. After all, you have to have plenty of juice for those gadgets. Other hot items include the MSI Wind, a new sub-notebook computer designed for the ultralight traveler who wants to blog his or her way around the world. And while on those long international flights, kick back with a movie of your own choosing, and watch in on the Eye Screen, a pair of VR goggles that simulate a 62 inch screen in front of your eyes. Rounding out your travel package is the new Bushnell ONIX 400 GPS, which comes loaded with a XM satellite radio, and the new Blackberry Bold for those looking for an alternative to the iPhone.

There are plenty of other cool items on the list as well, and some of them will make your wallet whimper a bit. But they’ll all make your travels a bit easier or safer too. Perhaps a few of these items will make it into your carry on bag on your next adventure.

  1. Wow thanks for the blog. Especially the info about the travel blog with the solar panels. I am planning on a 2 moth backpack trip and all this new tech gear is something I am going to look into. I ran across a new travel site, baraaza.com
you can review destinations, upload pics, get info for upcoming trips, and stuff like that. I think you might like it. Thanks for all the tech travel gear info.

  2. Wow, if this is available today in 2008, I can only imagine what might be available in another few decades. 2050 and people are teleporting themselves to different countries. Who knows?

My husband and I leave on September 30th to backpack to various countries around the world for a year or so.

As we have been planning, Justin (the tech-savy one of the two of us) has been writting about the technology we will be bringing. Check out our blog: http://www.nomadbackpackers.com We would love to have other opinions, ideas, encouragement, advice, helpful tips, and more left as comments.

    Thanks,
    Natalie
