Check out this short, but nicely shot, video of climbers approaching the summit on Everest. It shows off some spectacular views going up and looking down from the summit of course, and gives you an idea of what Summit Day is like on the tallest mountain on the planet.
I came across this while browsing the Team Geared Up blog earlier, and while they’ve had a photo accompanying it showing the route up the North Side, this video appears to have been shot on the South Col. I’m pretty sure I recognize the Hillary Step at one point as well. Great stuff!

Amazing to get a first person view of the journey! I really hope to see it one day for myself, but….well you know how it is.
Yep! I know all too well. Doubt I’ll ever get that high on the mountain, but I will see Everest first hand at some point.
Great post!
Why is it that such images and the music that blends with it always gets me going… either with enthusiasm or even with a tear…..

It’s that thirst for adventure that fires up the enthusiasm, and the incredibly humbling feeling that we can when we see those views and the amazing scope of these mountains. At least that’s what gets to me DSD!
