Registration opened earlier today for Primal Quest 2009 to be held in the Badlands of South Dakota. The race will get underway on August 15th and run through the 24th, with teams competing against one another over a 600 mile course that will involve running, mountain biking, paddling, climbing, spelunking, and more.
Following the big success of Primal Quest Montana, the PQ staff is excited to hear that the vast majority of teams from that race are committed to returning for 2009, including the top three finishers in Nike, Merrell/Zanfel Adventure, and Team Bones. Of course, we’re also hoping that we’ll get plenty of new teams to come run the race this time as well. There are some great teams from all over the world that I’d love to see come to South Dakota and challenge Nike.
Fans of the sport of adventure racing, and Primal Quest specifically, should stay tuned. There are some exciting things in the works for the race that will make for a great experience when following the event as it happens, and according to the countdown clock on the website, we have just 277 days before it gets underway.
