Summit on the Summit: They Did It!

I’ve mentioned the Summit on the Summit expedition plenty in the past few months, and most recently last week when they finally launched their climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise funds and awareness about clean water crisis that is hitting many parts of the world.

Today, the team reached the summit of Kili, which is known at Uhuru Peak, and is located at 19,340 feet. The very Roof of Africa. The photo below was posted on the First Ascent Blog, who were one of the sponsors for the climb. It is difficult to tell who is who in that photo, as they are mostly bundled up, but amongst them are a number of celebrities including trip leader Kenna and actors Jessica Biel and Emile Hirsch. Judging from the photo, it looks like it was a cold march to the summit, and it seems there is no shortage of snow up there too!
