A month ago I wrote a piece on Alastair Humphreys’ trek across Iceland, which took place back in July but has been detailed more recently on Alatair’s website. He’s done a great job of sharing the experience of the trek, but the slideshow of images below, along with his narration, really hammers home the beauty of the country and the challenges faced in crossing it on foot. Really beautiful stuff.
Thanks to BestHike for sharing this a few days back.

Wow, Iceland is one country I really want to explore, it fascinates me!
I haven't been there yet either, but it's definitely on my "must visit" list. This makes it all the more enticing.
Thanks for sharing this on here. Do you mind if I flag up this little video I did about the whole trip, including the rafting: http://vimeo.com/16580852
