As the promise of a new year dawns, and we consider all the possibilities that are ahead for all of us in 2011, National Geographic is here to give us something to think about. Sometime later this year the Earth will surpass 7 billion inhabitants and we’ll all be struggling to use finite resources and learning to inhabit the planet together. With that in mind, Nat Geo is running a year long special dedicated to this milestone in population growth (or explosion depending on your point of view).
