One of my compatriots over at Gadling posted this video yesterday and I just hat to share it here too. It shows an insane downhill bike race held in Chile each year. Known as the The Valparaiso Cerro Abajo Race, it run through the streets of Valparaiso and incorporates jumps, ramps, sidewalks, and much more.
The whole thing is caught on helmet cam, which only adds to the craziness, as people cheer the rider on all the way to the end. My favorite moment? When the dog walks out right in front of the rider. Don’t worry, the pooch is fine, but it had to be pretty scary to see a German Shepard become part of the course! Wow!

That's incredible – went from a quite cool downhill bike ride to a full blown Hollywood action movie in a few minutes. Some great jumps!
I swear towards the end there, it looked like he was wearing a pinstripe suit to top it all off. He's just full of awesome sauce.
i'm planning on going to Chile in the not too distant future…when in the year is this?
The race was just run in February Hudson. You may have to wait until the 2012 edition if you want to compete.
That's my Chile!! – crazy people. Thanks for posting this.
I love how the dog doesn't even look alarmed, just put out. Hilarious.
Denne videon er helt rå. Skulle gjerne prøvd denne løypa.

I swear by the end there seemed to be dressed in a pinstripe suit on top of that. That just full of awesome sauce.
