Chogolisa is a 7665 meter (25,148 ft) mountain located in Pakistanβs Karakoram range. This past summer, mountaineers David Lama and his climbing partner Peter Ortner visited the remote peak in an attempt to make the first reported summit since 1986. The video below chronicles their climb and captures some amazing footage of their ascent. The views from the summit are nothing short of spectacular and the Karakoram looks simply amazing from that altitude.
The video also gives us a sense of how bad the weather was in Pakistan this summer. We heard over and over again that it was terrible, but there are some scenes here that underscore that further.
