In this clip, scuba-diving cameraman Rainer Schimpf got much closer to the subjects he was filming than ever intended, that much is certain. While filming the annual sardine run off the coast of Port Elizabeth in South Africa, he first came face-to-face with a massive 15-meter (49 foot) long Bryde’s whale, only to be followed up shortly there after by a curious shark. It is a scary scene for sure, and one I’m glad I wasn’t in the water for. Check it all out in the video below. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water!
