Jost Kobusch, a 22-year old German mountaineer, recently made a solo summit of Ama Dablam, and in the process set a record for the youngest person to pull off that feat. The 6170 meter (20,243 ft) peak located in the Khumbu Valley of Nepal, provides a good technical challenge for any climber, and is one of the most striking images of a mountain anywhere. The video below takes us through his expedition, including flying to Lukla, trekking in the Khumbu, and up the mountain itself.
Congrats to Jost on this great accomplishment, and thanks to Cyril Kaicener for sharing this with me.
