Over the next few weeks, I’ll be writing quite regularly about K2, the second tallest mountain in the world, and the focus of the mountaineering world at the moment. Located in the Karakoram Range in Pakistan, K2 stands 8611 meters (28,251 ft) in height, and is considered by many to be the toughest climb in the world.
The 30-minute documentary below serves as a good introduction to the “Mountaineer’s Mountain.” It was made by Turkish climber Tunç Finik, who summited a few years back, and is currently preparing to climb Gasherbrum I and II. The short film offers some spectacular views of this formidable mountain, and insights on what it takes to climb it.
