Winter Climbing on Nanga Parbat: As I write this, there are no less than four teams on Nanga Parbat who are attempting to complete the first winter ascent of that mountain. If youβve been following their progress over the past few weeks, and have wondered what life is like in the Karakoram in the winter, then have a look at this video.
It was shot on 2012-2013 winter expedition tot he mountain, and it will give you a good idea of hat conditions are like there, as well as what it is like to live in Base Camp for days at a time. The music in this clip is a bit much for my tastes, but the images are amazing.

Nanga Parbat is in the main Himalayan chain, not the Karakoram.
