Last week I shared a video of the route to the summit of Everest starting from Base Camp on the South Side in Nepal. Today, I have a similar video showing the route from the North Side in Tibet as well. As you’ll see, the challenges are quite different on the Chinese side of the mountain, where teams don’t have to contend with the Khumbu Icefall, but face more technical challenges higher up, especially at a place called “the Second Step.” Now that the summit push is finally about to begin, this will give you some idea of what climbers will face on the “other” side of Everest.
