Men’s Journal has another great story for us today, this time giving readers their picks for the 25 best adventure photos from the past 25 years. As you can probably imagine, these images are some of the most iconic, inspiring, and downright amazing that you’ll ever see. And for those of us who fancy ourselves as photographers will probably find one or two the we wished we had taken too.
The photos that make MJ’s list were taken all over the world, including Malta, Alaska, Yosemite Valley, and even the depths of the Great Barrier Reef. The images show some of our favorite outdoor personalities, including the likes of Alex Honnold, Dean Potter, and Cory Richards. They show breathtaking landscapes, powerful forces of nature, and sometimes even the limits of human endurance in the mountains, on the sea, and even beneath the surface of the Earth too.
Unlike some of the lists that I post here, it is impossible for me to spoil any of the entities that earned a spot in the top 25. You really have to scroll through the gallery yourself, taking in each shot and reading about the story behind the photo too. MJ shares where the photo was taken, explains what we’re looking at, credits the photographer, and provides context for each and every picture. This helps to put everything into perspective and gives us an idea of what makes each of the images so special.
