For 30 years Richard Louis “Dick” Proenneke lived completely alone in the wilderness of Alaska. He built himself a log cabin, hunted and fished, and explored the region near Twin Lakes. Over that time, he also kept meticulous records on his activities,
both in written and filmed form, and tracked meteorological data that would proven invaluable to researchers. This film gives us a glimpse into his life, alone in the wilderness. It is a full documentary 57 minutes in length, but well worth a watch when you have the time. I think you’ll find it fascinating and moving.
