That adventure documentary depicted the ill-fated Ziegler Polar Expedition, which was an early attempt to reach the North Pole. The journey ended in disaster with the team getting stuck in the Arctic ice for nearly two years before eventually being rescued. The footage marks Nat Geo’s first foray into filmmaking, which would later become a hallmark of the organization. Check it out below.
