Late last year, President Trump announced a major reduction in size to both the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments. This move was obviously met with outrage throughout the outdoor community, as those places are now open to mining and oil drilling too. Back in January, a group of adventurers decided to see what those two places looked like by running 250 miles across the two monuments in a single weekend. This video tells their story, and gives us a better look at both the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase. What you’ll see there will leave a lasting impression and better explain why these two amazing places need to be protected from outside interests.
