Yesterday I shared an animated video of SpaceX’s new Falcon Heavy rocket lifting off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. That clip depicted a theoretical launch that was still yet to come. But, Elon Musk’s space company managed to get their powerful rocket off the ground, and in the process send the billionaire’s Tesla Roadster off into space. The video below is the footage from that launch, which includes some outstanding shots of the rocket, the Roadster, and the “Starman” sitting in the driver’s seat. What we witness hear could be the next major step in getting man back out into space, potentially taking us all the way to Mars in the next decade.
