The Volvo Ocean Race has left the Southern Ocean behind and is now making its way north towards the it’s one stop in North America. The race has been a long and difficult one already and it is still a long way from being over. For those that think that sailing isn’t an extreme sport, perhaps this video will convince you otherwise. It provides a wonderful and terrifying look at what it is like to sail in the Southern Ocean, with massive waves and big winds propelling these ships along at surprising speeds.
