Men’s Journal has put together yet another intriguing list for us to ponder and debate over. This time out, the magazine has compiled its picks for the 18 most adventurous people in the world right now. It is filled with names of men and women that we’ve followed on numerous expeditions and adventures here at The Adventure Blog in the past, ranking them from 1-18 based on their wild, inspiring, and some times crazy exploits in the field.
Each entry on the list includes an introduction to the individual and a brief description of why they belong the list. Some of the entries include a photo of the outdoor athlete in action with some stunning shots of climbers, explorers, and others in their element. In some cases, the description includes links to organizations and projects that these men and women are working on.
So who made the cut on MJ’s latest list? Of course, I won’t spoil the fun of finding out for yourself, but I will say that you’re likely to recognize many of the names found there. That group includes the likes of ski mountaineer Kit Deslauriers, polar explorer Vincent Colliard, and mountaineer Melissa Arnot. Oh, and you’ll certainly recognize the guy at the top of the list, as he’s fairly famous too.
As usual with a list like this one there are some fairly prominent names that didn’t make the cut. When you only have 18 slots to narrow things down, it is hard to get everyone who deserves a mention into the the article. T
here are a few curious omissions and I have to wonder why photographer Chris Burkard is there. Don’t get me wrong, I admire Burkard a lot and he has done some really beautiful and interesting projects, but when it comes to adventurous photographers, it really is hard to top Jimmy Chin.
Check out the entire list here.

As you say, these type of lists are always debatable. I definitely agree on Jimmy Chin… but I am more curious as to why Kilian Jornet didn't make the cut 😐
Agreed Giacomo! I'd be hard pressed to make a list like this one and leave Killian off of it.

PS: Why would they block content, first time it happens…or perhaps related to coming GDPR ?

Same here. Mensjournal doesn't load from Finland, but when I use an american proxy it works just fine. I googled the problem and it seems that they are indeed geoblocking everyone from outside the USA for some weird reason. O.o
