One of the toughest challenges in all of mountaineering is the Southeast Ridge of Annapurna III, a rugged, demanding route that has turned back some of the world’s best climbers multiple times. In this video, we join alpinists David Lama, Hansjörg Auer, and Alex Blümel as they set out to scale this route for the first time. What they find is a mountain that is unwilling to give up its summit easily, making this one of the most difficult expeditions in recent memory. This short documentary is beautifully shot and tells a great story of what it is like to suffer and struggle in the mountains.
