While I was in Denver for the Outdoor Retailer gear show, my podcast co-host and I recorded an episode of the show talking about some of the things that we saw there, as well as some of the prevailing trends that have been impacting the industry. We were joined on the show by our friend Frank Ledwell, the editor of OutdoorX4 magazine, who offered his thoughts and insights too.
This episode varies somewhat from our usual format, as we skip our regular adventure news segment, as well as our weekly gear picks, focusing instead on some of our favorite gear that we saw in the first two days of the show. We recorded this show on Tuesday evening, so we still had two full days to take more meetings and check out the latest and greatest new outdoor products. We saw some really impressive stuff during those sessions too, and on next week’s show we’ll hand out our first ever Adventure Podcast Best of Outdoor Retailer awards.
