While more than half of 2018 has already come and gone, no doubt many of you are still making travel plans for this year. If that happens to be the case, you might want to take a gander a very definitive list that was recently published by FlightNetwork, an online booking service built to help you find cheap airline tickets. The site recently shared its picks for the “world’s best once-in-a-lifetime journeys,” with some impressive trips making the cut.
On the FlightNetwork list you’ll find some truly classic adventures for sure. For example, the top two include a journey to Antarctica and a visit to the Galapagos Islands, a couple of staples in the adventure travel community. But slide further down the list and you’ll start to discover a some suggestions that are a bit less well known –– including driving the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia or taking a motorcycle from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi in Vietnam.
All told, there are 50 great adventures on the list, making it one of the most comprehensive complications of the truly great adventure travel experiences that I’ve ever come across. But, the writers behind this didn’t just stop at jotting down their picks for the best journeys to take. Each of the entries also includes a brief description of what makes it special, instructions on how to get to the location to make the trip a reality, and a map of the area covered while there.
For many of us, there won’t be a ton of surprises on this list, even though it is 50 entities deep. I myself have done quite a few of the trips that made the cut. Still, that doesn’t make this a resource that is any less useful. In fact, it can serve as quite the bucket list for those who are looking for their next big adventure.
