Ultrarunners are some of the men and women who are truly pushing the limits in outdoor sports at the moment. They’re finding ways to go further and faster than we ever thought before, particularly in the relentless pursuit of an “FKT” –– or fastest known time. In this video, we join endurance athlete Joe McConaughy as he goes for an FKT on the Wicklow Round, a 100 km (62 mile) route in Ireland that includes 26 individual summits along its path and more than 6000 meters (19,685 ft) of vertical gain.
