This week on The Adventure Podcast we’re joined by our special guest Freddy Ansara, the founder of FA Designs. Freddy is a professional snowboarder turned outdoor gear designer who has created some of the best outdoor apparel for use on the slopes, including the Subsonic Jacket that Dave has talked about on the show on more than one occasion. In the interview, Ansara tells us how he got started snowboarding, why he founded FA Designs, and where he thinks the outdoor industry is headed.
As usual, we start the show off with some adventure news, including updates on major winter climbing expeditions and the ongoing Antarctic expedition season. We also share the news about a major paddling excursion that will take place later this summer, with kayaker West Hansen attempting to cross the Northwest Passage. Later, we wrap things up with our weekly gear picks, with my co-host Dave Adlard sharing his thoughts on a new light hiking shoe from Hoka One One, while I expound on the merits of the Pelican Vault Cases.
