The Adventure Podcast Episode 48: Weird First and Wacky Stunts on Everest

While we’re off to Outdoor Retailer this week, we still had time to record a new episode of The Adventure Podcast before leaving for Denver. This week, we take a look at some of the weird “firsts” and wacky stunts that have taken place on Everest over the years, with some that are inspiring and others that are just downright crazy. You’ll hear about high altitude dinner parties, paragliding from the summit, and a non-climber who deliberately wanted to crash his plane into the mountain. It’s one heck of a topic.

Before jumping into that however, we first breakdown the latest in adventure news, including reports that China while cut the number of permits for Everest. We also learn about a disabled veteran who is rowing the Atlantic Ocean solo, while processing some disturbing environmental news. And of course, we wrap things up with our weekly Gear Picks, including a look at a new hydration pack from Hydro Flask that is coming in April and an outdoor cooking set from GSI.
