Welcome to the new home for The Adventure Blog! After nearly 12 years on Blogspot I’ve finally made the move to a new domain, website host, and an updated, modern design. It was long overdue. Blogspot has been the home for my little corner of the Internet since the beginning, and while I will miss the ease and simplicity that came along with the old site, I’m anxious, eager, and excited to turn the page on a new era. Hopefully, you’ll like what you see here.
I’ve spent the better part of the past two weeks getting the new site ready for visitors. I searched long and hard for a good theme that is simple, elegant, and attractive. It brings some truly modern features that have been lacking on the blog for awhile now. The site is also optimized nicely for use on mobile devices, while providing both myself and readers with some new tools that should enhance the overall experience.
That said, you can expect much of the same content that The Adventure Blog has become known for. I’ll continue to follow expeditions, explorers, travelers, and adventurers all across the globe as they push the boundaries of what we consider possible. I’ll also share videos that are fun and interesting, post regular gear reviews, and offer my thoughts on new technology. And of course, also be writing about my own globe-spanning adventures too.
Hopefully, long-time readers will appreciate the new site, even though it may take a bit to get accustomed to the new look. On the flip side, I also hope new readers will enjoy what they find here too. I have imported all of the posts from the old Blogspot site to this new domain, so there is a rich backlog of stories from the exploration and adventure community from the past decade.
Precious few of those stories have been edited to fit the new theme, although they remain readable and relevant. With more than 12,000 articles to go through, it is simply impossible for me to get them all updated to the new format. Over time, I will work on improving those older posts, but it will be a slow, laborious process that I simply won’t have the resources to focus on fully.
Starting tomorrow, January 2, 2019, I’ll get back to posting the regular updates that I’ve been doing for years here at The Adventure Blog. Believe me, there are some good things to share as we move into the new year. If you have any questions, comments, or thoughts about the new site, you can send me a note at feedback@adventureblog.net. I look forward to hearing from you and as always, thanks so much for stopping by.

Congrats, looks good!
Thanks Clyde! Been working hard the past few weeks to get it ready. It should be a great new home for the blog moving forward.
Super work Kraig, thanks for doing your thing. Happy new year!
Thanks Dave! Glad you like the new site. Happy New Year to you as well!
Love the new look!

Mount Everest The British Story
Thanks Colin! It’s been a long time coming, but happy to have it launched at long last.
Looks great and all, but what I really appreciate is the faster server(s), lol! The old one seemed to crawl at times…
Interesting. Hope the new host is faster, but considering Blogspot runs on Google servers, I would have thought they would be faster. May not have been the servers themselves I suppose, but the older platform. WordPress is at least updated regularly and more modern in design. Thanks for stopping by!
Looks really super. It is a lot of work moving sites and content. Well done Kraig.
Thanks Lisa! Much appreciated. You’ve been reading the blog about as long as anyone and I’m glad you like the new home. 🙂
