If you’re a regular reader of The Adventure Blog you’ve no doubt noticed the banner ad advertising a new book called Reaching Beyond Boundaries. The image, which is accompanied by a link to Amazon.com to buy the book, has been on my new website since it relaunched back in early January. As it turns out, this is my very first book and after months of writing and editing, it’s about to be released.
I wrote Reaching Beyond Boundaries with my friend and co-author Don Mann, who is a former Navy SEAL and world class endurance athlete. Don has been in high demand on the speaking circuit for years, giving inspirational talks to corporate clients, professional sports teams, nonprofits, and numerous other organizations.
Over that time, he has developed a refined presentation on how to set and achieve the goals you want out of life, with the idea of creating micro-goals to reach macro-goals. That presentation formed the basis of our book, although it goes far deeper than that, mixing in stories of adventure, exploration, sports, business, and more.
At the heart of the book is Don’s story, including his path to becoming a Navy SEAL, his never-ending desire to push himself further as an athlete, and his love of adventure in its many forms.
But, we’ve also includes countless stories of individuals who have achieved big things by setting massive goals and finding ways to achieve them. Throughout the book you’ll find stories of mountaineers, professional athletes, explorers, and entrepreneurs too. In other words, you’ll find a lot of inspiration that is not unlike the stories you read here on this blog.
In the lead up to the publication of the book we’ve shared the text with a number of individual –– many of which are famous explorers and athletes in their own right –– and the response has been overwhelming.
As the main author or the book, I was far too close to the project, not knowing if what I was doing was any good or not. But those individuals with whom we shared it have enthusiastically loved it. In fact, the response has been incredible so far. To find out what many of these people have said, check out the page I’ve compiled to share their endorsements. You’ll find it be clicking here.
If you like what you read on this website, there’s a great chance you’ll enjoy the stories and concepts we share in RBB. You might even learn a thing or two about how to achieve the things you want in life, whether that means embarking on an expedition to the Himalaya, running a marathon, or starting a business. Beyond that however, I think you’ll just finding it interesting, entertaining, and educational to read too.
The book is available for preorder now though Amazon and other online book outlets. It will start shipping and appear in stores starting on February 19. If you’d like to know more, hop on over to Amazon and checkout the book’s page, where you can also place your order if you’re so inclined.
Thanks for reading. We now return you to your regular adventure stories.
