Up north, the aurora borealis (aka the Northern Lights) gets all kinds of attention, but what many people don’t realize that a similar light show can be found in the southern hemisphere too. Known as the aurora australis, this mesmerizing lights are often quite visible at the South Pole, and as you’ll see in the stunning video above they are every bit as remarkable as their northern counter parts.
