On this week’s episode of The Adventure Podcast we welcome a very special guest in the form of Chad Salmela, a commentator for NBC Sports who covers biathlon and cross-country skiing. Chad sits down with my co-host Dave Adlard to talk not only about those sports, but his background in the outdoors, thoughts on doping amongst professional athletes, some of his favorite calls, and a lot more.
Before we jump into that interview however, we first take a look at some adventure news. Headlines this week include the potential for a record number of summits on Everest this spring, an update on Fedor Konyukhov’s attempt to row the Southern Ocean, and a 95-year old man who is running across the U.S. As always, we wrap up the show with some gear reviews, including Dave’s first test of a new pair of gaiter’s from Hillsound and my thoughts on the Korker’s Ice Walkers.
