Last fall, hiker Joe McConaughy (trail name: Stringbean) set an impressive new speed record on the Appalachian Trail, finishing the entire 2190-mile (3524 km) route in just 45 days. What was it like for him to travel more than 48 miles (77 km) each and every day? This video takes us out on the trail with Joe to see what that journey was like. It also shares some insights into what drives him, while sharing some magnificent scenery along the way too.
