This spring, Cory Richards –– along with climbing partner Esteban “Topo” Mena –– will set out to climb an entirely new route on the North Side of Everest. If successful, it will be the first new line to the summit since 2009. This video, which his the first in a series that will follow their expedition, not only introduces us to Cory but gives us glimpse of why he wants to undertake this challenge. You’ll also get a look at what this new route is all about as we edge ever closer to the start of the spring climbing season in the Himalaya.
