After taking a week off for some travel, The Adventure Podcast returns this week with a brand new episode. We welcome ultrarunner and race director Candice Burt to the show to talk about her amazing series of 200+ mile races, an upcoming attempt at an FKT on the Arizona Trail, and much, much more. Candice share her thoughts on the evolving ultra scene, what it’s like to run really, really, really far, and how she got started with ultrarunning in the first place.
Before we jump into that interview however, we first discuss some of the latest adventure news, including updates from the spring climbing season in the Himalaya, the sad news on the cancellation of the North Pole season at Barnes, and we get an update on the progress of Fedor Konyukhov and his attempt to row across the Southern Ocean. Later, we also share our weekly gear picks, with Dave offering his thoughts on the latest water-filtering bottle from Grayl, while I review the new Uberlight sleeping pad from Therm-a-Rest.
As always, you can listen to the show through the embedded player found below or you can subscribe to it through Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Sticher, and Spotify. We also welcome your thoughts, feedback, and questions so feel free to reach out via our Facebook page, Twitter, or email.
