Off to Upstate New York for ATTA Adventure Elevate!

Just a quick note this morning to let regular readers know that updates are likely to be sparse over the next week or so. I’m leaving today for Upstate New York –– the Lake George region to be specific –– to attend the Adventure Travel Trade Association’s 2019 Adventure Elevate conference. What does that mean exactly? The conference is an annual event where some of the top travel companies, tourism boards, and other organizations come together to discuss the health and future of adventure travel. I was lucky enough to attend in 2017 as well and found it to be a very interesting, educational, and inspirational too. I’m honored to be back this year to take part once again.

Tomorrow, we’ll start the proceedings with a three-day adventure. I’ll be canoeing and kayaking on Lake George, while camping on some of the local islands. On Monday, we’ll have “A Day of Adventure,” which sends attendees out on a variety of hiking, biking, and paddling excursions. Then next Tuesday, we’ll get down to business with seminars, meetings, keynote addresses, and much more. Finally, it’s back home next Thursday, as least for a few days as I prepare for the Outdoor Retailer convention in Denver. Yes, it’s a busy time of year!

I should have some time to post an occasional story over the next week or so, but updates will be infrequent for sure. Still, I’ll share news videos, and other info as the time warrants. Thanks for hanging with me as we work through the next few weeks. Things will be back to normal around here soon.
