After several weeks off and a solo adventure news episode last week, The Adventure Podcast is back on track this week with a more normal show. My co-host Dave Adlard and I return to the usual format and reunite on the air. Our main topic for the week is all about Outdoor Retailer and the best new gear that we saw there. As you can imagine, there were hundreds of items to sort through, so picking our “Best of Show” award winners wasn’t easy. Some of the recipients include Rivian for its amazing electric pick-up truck and Eagle Creek for an impressive new set of luggage. Yes, luggage!
Before we jump into that subject however, we spend the first part of the podcast catching up on adventure news. Those stories include the start of the climbing season in the Karakoram, an update on the official number of climbers who summited Everest this spring, and an adventurous duo who are looking to recreate an iconic overland expedition from 1955. We do skip our usual gear segment however since the episode is already heavily gear focused with news from OR.
You’ll can listen to the latest episode using the embedded player in this post below, or you can find us (and subscribe) through Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Sticher, and Spotify.
