Video: The New Land Rover Defender Tested in the Wilds of Africa

When it comes to adventure vehicles, few can compare to the legacy of the Land Rover Defender. For more than 50 years, it has been the off-road, exploration vehicle by which most others have been compared. For 2020, Land Rover is releasing an all-new model of the Defender, which up until now has remained shrouded in secrecy. But little by little the company is starting to peel back the layers, giving us a glimpse of what we can expect when this iconic vehicle makes its return. In the case of the video above, the new Defender was sent to Africa to be put through its paces. In order to do that, it was shipped to Kenya, where it was put to work in lion conservation efforts with Tusk, an organization dedicated to advancing wildlife conservation across all of Africa. As you’ll see, the 2020 Defender is up to the task and will probably be able to get you through a few adventures too.

Personally, the Defender has always been one of my favorite adventure vehicles and I can’t wait to learn more about the new edition.
