This week we welcome Rick Saez to The Adventure Podcast to talk about his experience in the outdoor industry, which helped to spawn his own show –– The Outdoor Biz Podcast. Rick has been a fixture in the outdoor space for decades and has connections with a lot of other great people who make up the industry too. He has those folks come on his show to share their stories, what they do for a living, and how others can get into the outdoor industry as well. We even share some thoughts and advice for those looking to start their own podcast, along with a wide variety of other topics.
Before we get into that interview however, my co-host Dave Adlard and I discuss the latest adventure news, including a big week on K2 in the Karakoram, a hiker who climbed 576 peaks in a single year, and a dubious record set in the northernmost town in the world. As usual, we also wrap things up with some quick gear reviews with Dave sharing his thoughts on a backpack from Granite Gear, while I offer up a review of the Anything Cargo Pant from 686.
