Last week REI showed us how to properly coil a climbing rope. This week, the lessons continue, this time with a demonstration of the correct way to tie into a climbing harness using a figure eight knot. The goal is to stay as safe and secure as possible before starting up the wall, which means not only knowing how to tie in, but also check your work ahead of time as well. These are valuable skills to have for beginner climbers, and good reminders for those who have been doing it for awhile.
