Back in 1997, a hunting accident took away Lonnie Bedwell’s sight. For a time, he sunk into a deep depression, fearing that he would live the rest of his life without enjoying the activities and adventures that he had loved while he could still see.
But gradually he rebuilt his own confidence and strength, re-learning all of the things he had once done and more. Eventually, he took up kayaking and even paddled the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon alongside Erik Weihenmayer a few years back.
That only served to spur him on further and take up the role of being a mentor to other individuals who were blind, helping them to reach their goals too. This video tells Lonnie’s story and delivers plenty of inspiration to the rest of us along the way.
