Adventure Quickies: Patagonia Upgrades Black Hole Bags, Win $5K of 4X4 Gear, and More!

Each week there are far too many gear, adventure travel, and exploration stories to share in the limited time and space that I have. To help rectify that, I try to wind things down on a Friday with a rundown of some of the things we might have missed elsewhere. These “Adventure Quickies” are meant to offer a brief intro to topic and some links where you can find out more. So to that end, here’s what was happening this week in the world of outdoor adventure:

  • Duer Celebrates 5th Anniversary by Giving Away a Trip to Vietnam: Duer has been one of the leaders in making stretch-denim pants for use by climbers, hikers, and other outdoor athletes. In fact, the company has now been around for five years, and to celebrate that milestone its sending one lucky fan (and a guest!) on an amazing 11-day adventure to hike, bike, and paddle their way across Vietnam.   • 15,000 Corvettes Descend on Bowling Green, KY: Bowling Green, Kentucky is the home of the Chevy Corvette, one of the most storied and beloved sports cars in the world. To celebrate that status more than 15,000 of the vehicles will descend on the city on Labor Day Weekend this year. The 6th National Corvette Caravan will take place from August 26-31, ending in BG, just in time to welcome the new 2020 mid-engine Corvette Stingray to the line-up.
