This past fall, a pair of climbers sponsored by Mountain Hardwear went to Everest to attempt the mountain and test some new gear. That team included company president Joe Vernachio and sponsored athlete Tim Emmett. If you followed the fall climbing season closely, you probably already know how things worked out.
An overhanging serac created an incredibly dangerous situation, forcing all of the teams to pull the plug on their climbs. Still, a visit to the world’s highest mountain is always a valuable experience and as you’ll see from this video, Joe and Tim still had an amazing journey, even if they couldn’t go to the top.
