Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell: How do you top the two best climbing films in recent memory? Why, take the two principle characters in those films and put them together in a new one of course! That seems to be the formula behind the film which you’ll see a trailer for above.
It takes Tommy Caldwell — of The Dawn Wall fame — and teams him with Alex Honnold, who made a little film called Free Solo, and puts them together to attempt a new speed record on The Nose, the most iconic route up El Capitan in Yosemite. Spoiler Alert: They set the record, going below two hours on that route for the first time. How they did and what it was like on the rock is going to be epic to watch unfold however. I can’t wait for the full the film.
